A crown has just been screwed onto your implant: Our advice

Congratulations on your recentcrown or bridge placement!

You have decided to replace one or more of your teeth.

When the treatment has been carried out on

implant(s).

In the presence of an implant, there is no risk of caries. However, it remains on the adjacent teeth, which is why hygiene must be maintained. The damage to the gum is more of a concern that threatens the crown or the bridge on the implant. To prevent any complications, we recommend that you:

  • Reinforce hygienein the affected area.
  • Brush at least once a daybetween the teeth adjacent to the restoration
  • Under a bridge, perform a daily rinse. You can use a syringe filled with water or a mouthwash.
  • Follow-up with your dentist is essential for long-term maintenance.
  • Quitting or reducing smoking considerably improves an implant’s long-term prognosis.
  • Every 2-3 months, you can carry out a Chlorhexidine mouthwash treatment for one week (in pharmacy: 20 ml at 0.2 % during 60 sec., spit out without rinsing). Do not use the product on a permanent basis.
