Installing a crown: what are the steps?

Here are the different steps of placing a dental crown to restore a tooth:

The tooth is cleaned and milled to prepare it for the upcoming steps.
An impression (classic or digital camera) is sent to a dental laboratory for the fabrication of the final crown.
A temporary resin crown is placed on your tooth during the production period. When the latter is damaged and badly decayed, a tenon (reinforcing rod) can be placed inside.
After a trial period, the final dental crown is attached and provides shape and function to your tooth in a durable way.
