Excision of oral lesions

Prevention is better than cure!  If you notice a change in the mucous membrane in your mouth, don’t wait to ask for a check-up, your general well-being may be at stake.

Excision of oral lesions

Explanations

Do you notice a white spot, an erythema, a nodule or an ulceration?
Lesions of the oral mucosa can have different aspects and origins.

The dentist seeks to understand in collaboration with you what may have caused
the appearance of a lesion while performing an
in-depth examination. While simple monitoring may be insufficient,
essential samples (biopsy, excision) might be required to
facilitate additional examinations. The latter is then sent to a
laboratory to be analyzed by a pathologist. Once the
diagnosis is completed, your dentist will advise you on
planning the next step in the care process.
