## When is a bone graft used?

Whether it is a lack of bone or a gum defect, it is now possible to remedy it using a minor surgery requiring no more than a local anesthetic.

**In what cases is a bone graft used?**

- When there is not enough bone to properly place a dental implant.
- When periodontal disease is stabilized, but a problematic bone defect must be reconstructed.

## In what cases is a gum graft used?

- When teeth show gum recession or a lack of attached gums.
- In case of strong associated dental sensitivities.
- In case of associated aesthetic discomfort.
 
Exposed roots are more vulnerable to cavities and
dental hypersensitivity (teeth sensitive to cold), which can
disrupt the patient's quality of life. In addition, teeth can
appear longer, with "black triangles" forming
between them, and the unattractive appearance is often resented
especially in the case of front teeth.
