Replacement of fillings

If you don’t mind the graying of your white teeth, it’s perfectly possible to keep old fillings (amalgams) in excellent condition. Otherwise, replacing them with modern aesthetic fillings is also possible, and even highly recommended when they are in poor condition.

Replacement of fillings

Doubt settles in

These fillings were once used for their high resistance
to chewing, but nobody knew how they
would behave over time. Some dental amalgams are composed of 52% mercury (the remaining
being silver, tin, zinc, copper).

In light of studies on the dangers of mercury, many countries have banned the use of dental amalgams for several years now. Similarly, mercury thermometers are no longer manufactured. In the same direction:

…even though all these substances have been used on a massive scale
for years with no apparent problems. It’s only after
several decades of use that certain products can
prove harmful to health. There are no studies that prove that they are harmful to dental amalgams, but there are also no studies that prove that they are not. We are in a grey area, which is partly due to a sampling problem. In fact, it is very difficult to carry out a large-scale study, especially as the symptoms can be very
varied and cross-referenced with other sources of intoxication or ailments
.

Are fillings bad for our health?

Replacement of fillings

Teeth break down over time

What is well documented, however, is that after a certain number of years, the amalgam tends to increase in volume. This expansion, which is often greater than tooth tissue can tolerate, can lead to tooth fracture. When the fracture involves the roots, the tooth is unfortunately lost. Removing old amalgams, at least those in poor condition, is therefore a way of safeguarding the good health of your teeth and possibly your general health. It’s a major act of prevention, in the same way that a vaccine protects against disease.
Given the doubts surrounding their harmlessness, amalgam removal should be carried out with the utmost care. At PanaDent, you can be sure that ingestion of metal particles during removal is reduced to a minimum (special burs and suction cannulas).

What’s more, you have the choice of opting for a groundbreaking
technology (widely used in Germany) for quantifying and monitoring
levels of heavy metals lodged in your tissues and organs. The examination is
totally painless and enables you to check, without taking blood, whether
there is a correlation between your fillings and overloads of various
metals such as mercury. If this is the case, we offer you our own
detoxification protocol during the removal process, which can be
combined with nutritional recommendations based on
natural products (zeolite, chlorella, activated charcoal, etc.) to rid your body of
overloads as far as possible.
