Explanations

Clenching or grinding teeth (bruxism) is an unconscious phenomenon (parafunction) that can occur day or night, although it is more frequently associated with sleep. There are many causes, but anxiety and stress are directly linked most of the time. Bruxism, in particular, can manifest itself by the appearance of worn-out spaces on the surface of the teeth and can progress towards a more significant loss of dental tissue, causing a reduction in the thickness of the incisors or even a shortening of their length. The muscular and articular consequences that come into play are manifested by growing pain and tension in the muscles of the face, particularly when waking up and can develop into the appearance of migraines.

Night mouthpiece / Night guard

The night mouthpiece/guard is a removable appliance designed to prevent teeth from grinding, reduce the load on the chewing muscles and allow them to relax again.

The first appointment allows us to make a diagnosis and to take impressions for the laboratory production of the anti-bruxism mouthpiece.

The mouthpiece is given to you during the second appointment and perfectly adjusted.

It is performed on a single arch, usually on the upper teeth, and covers only part of the teeth. It comprises a soft and comfortable inner layer and a more rigid outer layer, which protects the teeth from wear and relaxes the masticatory muscles.
