Dental Inlays-Onlays

The pinnacle of dentistry

This technique is undoubtedly the ideal solution to a Tooth too dilapidated or weakened by a root canal. The mechanical resistance of an onlay is much higher than that of dental amalgams amalgams and resins made directly in the office using conventional by conventional techniques.

Unlike removable dentures, this is a fixed dental prosthesis (just like a crown or bridge).

In addition, onlays provide a better quality seal between the tooth and the restoration. Therefore, the point of contact with adjacent teeth is more efficient, which reduces the risk of recurrence of the risk of recurrence of caries and gingival inflammation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between inlay and onlay?

An inlay is smaller than an onlay. An inlay replaces only the
missing internal parts of the tooth, while an onlay replaces the internal parts as well as one or more cusps, i.e. it covers part or all of the surface of the tooth being chewed on.

How is a dental onlay fixed?

A dental onlay is bonded with composite resin, somewhat similar to that used in the treatment of a cavity with white composite resin. The result is a fixed dental prosthesis unlike a removable prosthesis.

What is the average price of a dental onlay?

The average price of a dental onlay is 1200 CHF. The cost may vary depending on the type of prosthesis (onlay or inlay) and the material used.
