Dental veneers

Dental veneers are thin ceramic or resin films that are glued to the surface of the teeth (not to be confused with the dental crown), in the same way that false nails are glued during a manicure. They reproduce all-natural tooth characteristics, making them almost unrecognizable to the naked eye.

Placement of dental veneers: in which cases?

Dental veneers allow you to restore your smile by changing the shape and shade of your teeth, covering defects or aligning your teeth without going through orthodontic treatment.

Therefore, we recommend this technique in the
following cases:

The steps of the veneer application

The installation of dental veneers takes place in 3 steps for a quality result:

1. The veneers are made following a careful study by our dentists of the color and texture of the skin, the shape of the face, the curvature of the smile and the color of the eyes. A casting is made, which will serve as a basis for further testing.

2. A “mask” derived from the previous casting is introduced and and allows one to visualize the potential result. That model, which can be modified at will, is reworked until completely satisfied. A pellicular preparation on the external face of the teeth will be performed, removing a thin layer of enamel (0.2 to 0.5 mm). The procedure is painless.

3. Once the design stage is complete, the final veneers are tried on and bonded to the teeth. The veneers have been placed.

Dental veneer :
Frequently asked questions

What is the average price of a dental veneer?

The average price of a dental veneer is 1000 CHF. The cost may vary depending on the material used.

Do dental veneers damage teeth?

In cases where teeth need to be filled, they are simply glued to the teeth and therefore hardly damage them. In other cases, a small part of the enamel must be milled to create a base and space for the future veneer. The teeth are only slightly damaged because the veneers remain permanently.

Are dental veneers covered?

Like all aesthetic treatments, dental veneers are not covered by basic insurance (Lamal). Some supplemental dental insurance plans cover a portion of the cost, so we recommend that you contact them to see if you are considering enhancing your smile with dental veneers!
